18/ 09/ 08 : Survival skills

Another day in the 'jungle'..it's really easy to be overwhelmed by it though. I can imagine what it would be like if I was stuck in one.

How DO you survive in a tropical rainforest if you were to be stuck in one? There are many school of thoughts on the subject. I may not be the best reference on the matter but I do think that it all boils down on the individual's will to survive in any given situation. My references on the matter? Talk to the locals in the area that frequent the wilderness, talk to trained rangers and indigenous people for the have a wealth of knowledge. Getting to know the local flora and fauna too has its advantages. For those out there interested to know more on how to survive, you have NatGeo or Discovery Channel to thank for that.
